When Grandma and Grandpa came to visit ~ Part 2

Boy, I've got a lot of catching up to do!

When Mom and Dad were here we knew we wanted to take them to Frankenmuth, and we couldn't have picked a better day!  The sun was shining, and while it was definitely brisk it wasn't so cold that it made walking around unbearable.

We started out walking through the shops that are located underneath the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.  Each of the kids got to make a keepsake pressed penny.

After wandering through the shops we went outside and walked up and down Main Street.

We ended our visit with the famous chicken dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.

Since it was so close to Rowan's birthday we asked our server if they'd sing to him.  He brought him a tiny little cake with a candle on it and we all sang Happy Birthday.

On our way home from Frankenmuth we stopped by the gigantic outlet mall nearby and did a little shopping.  We didn't have the energy to stay for long, but it was fun to go!

We did plenty of hanging out during their visit, too.  I definitely didn't want to wear everyone out by running around every single day.

(Rowan's expression in this picture just kills me!)

Grandpa obliged us by making a big batch of Norwegian pancakes for dinner one night.

Dad was also super helpful and made his awesome Norwegian cream cake for Rowan's birthday!
