INSANELY windy

The wind is just ridiculous today! The first time we've ventured to church as a family in weeks and this obnoxious, cold wind is roaring through the valley like a freight train. It started last night and hasn't stopped yet. Aaron actually went around closing all the blinds in the house before he went to bed because he really thought one of the windows might break. Right now I'm sitting on the living room couch with the laptop and I can hear windows shaking everywhere and whistling coming from cracks around the front door. What happened to energy efficient homes??

We just sent the kids up to take a late Sunday nap and both asked if they could sleep in our room. For some reason our bedroom window doesn't rattle as much as theirs, and Hakan gets especially freaked out by the wind. He came into our room this morning dragging his blanket and two friends, whimpering "I no like dat noise." Poor guy.

Aaron put packing tape over the door crack where the deadbolt and doorknob are in an attempt to block the wind coming through.

Nap time! We'll see...

Our poor rocking chairs never stood a chance.

it was waaay bad in rexburg too. not to mention it snowed at the same time. at one point, kristen and i were leaving her parent's place (before we got snowed in) about a mile out her wipers were caked in ice so i got out to knock them clean, and the wind was so bad that it literally blew me down the icy road. it was depressing.

We must've gotten the same storm system! I thought our place was going to completely blow over yesterday! Talk about flashbacks of hurricane weather...except it was snowing. :)

Dad here. Throw a bunch of blowing sand into the mix and you can guess what it was like here at the park! We had a dead tree in the campground blow over onto a picnic table. Fortunately, no one was in the site at the time. No snow, though. Pretty good weather system - blowing from Boise to Rexburg to Orem to Kanab and beyond. The dunes were nice and clean, though. :)
